Dr Lidia Guzy guest lectures on field work in India (14-15.02)


Dr Lidia Guzy (University College Cork, Ireland) will deliver two guest lectures on the 14th and 15th of Feburary. 

„Sustainable documentation and the ethnographer's involvement as empowerment: examples from western Odisha, India“
The lecture will introduce into the role of the ethnographer in the ethnographic field based on long-term anthropological and ethno-musicological fieldwork in Western Odisha, India.

The lecture will take place Thursday, February 14 at 16.15 pm at the Department of Estonian and Comparative Folklore (Ülikooli 16-212).

„Landscape as resistance – The Gandamardhan Mountains of the Bora Sambar Region, India“. The lecture will discuss the concept of sacralised landscape as a regional power of resistance based on long-term fieldwork in Western Odisha, India.

The lecture will take place on Friday, February 15 at 12.15 at the Department of Estonian and Comparative Folklore (Ülikooli 16-214).
