Korean professor of semiotics Kim Sung Do visits Tartu

Kim Sung Do, a professor of semiotics and cultural and visual theory in Korea University, is visiting the department of semiotics and will give two public lectures.

Kim Sung Do is a professor of semiotics and cultural and visual theory in Korea University. He has contributed to the fields of semiotic anthropology, Saussurean semiology, urban semiotics, semiotics of branding and others. He is one of best known Korean semioticians and has translated important figures of modern semiotics such as Derrida, Peirce, Saussure, and Greimas. Kim Sung Do is a well-known author of Semiotica, Degres, Signata, Zeitschrifte fur Semiotik, Sign System Studies and other semiotic journals.
