The Centre is recruiting two research fellows on Asian studies

The University of Tartu Asia Centre is looking for two research fellows on Asian studies. The fellows will join a research group that focuses on South and East Asia. The group will work on the achievement of the objectives of the following projects: "The Impact of the Ukrainian War on the Geopolitical Developments in South Asia. Analysis in Collaboration with Singaporean Scientists" and "The Political, Economic and Cultural Role of Asia for Northern and Eastern Europe". 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Participation in research activities of the working group.
  • Participation in project meetings and development seminars in Estonia and abroad.
  • Preparation of publications based on research results.
  • Introducing research results to Estonian society.

Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification
More information: requirements for teaching and research staff.

Required experience

  • Ability to participate in the research activities of the specialisation. 
  • Research experience in an international research group or a project.
  • Internationally recognised professional research, the volume of which is equivalent to that of at least one doctoral thesis.

Required language skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are needed. Estonian, Hindi, and Chinese skills are an advantage.
